How we pick products

Last updated 25 October 2026

Every PickPaisa guide follows the same rules, so you know what you are reading.

1. Start from what Indian shoppers search

We pick topics people in India actually search for, such as phones by budget (₹15,000, ₹20,000, ₹30,000), winter appliances when the cold and smog arrive, and gifts before Diwali and the wedding season. The homepage's "Right now" section changes with the season.

2. Only products you can buy today

A product makes the list only if we found it listed on an Indian store (such as Flipkart, Amazon.in or AJIO) within the budget, on the date shown in the guide. We show a "Check price on…" button only for stores where we saw it listed. If we could not check a store, we leave it out.

3. Specs copied, never guessed

Specs come from the store listing or the brand's page. We copy them as written. For example, if a listing names a chip vaguely, we write "(as listed)". If a spec is missing, we leave it blank. If two listings disagree, we tell you.

4. Prices with dates

We write prices as "around ₹X as of [month year]" because they change daily. Each guide shows when prices were checked and links to where we read them.

5. No invented ratings, reviews or benchmarks

Unless a guide says we have used a product, we have not, so we do not give star ratings, scores or benchmark numbers. "Best for" labels describe what a product's listed features suit (for example, "biggest battery"), not a hands-on verdict.

6. Updates

Guides are re-checked regularly and before big sale events. Each guide shows its "last updated" date at the top. Found an error? Tell us.

7. Money does not decide the list

Store links may become affiliate links (see affiliate disclosure). That never changes which products appear or their order, and brands cannot pay to be included.
