Best Induction Cooktop Under ₹3,000 in India (2026): Prestige, Philips, V-Guard
Note: the "Check price" buttons are plain store links; we earn nothing from them right now. Picks are based on facts we checked. How we pick.
Under ₹3,000 you can buy a real induction cooktop from a known brand for festive and everyday cooking — useful for Diwali week meals and for a new kitchen before wedding season. The real differences are wattage (how fast it heats), preset Indian menus, surge / voltage protection (important on Indian wiring) and warranty on the coil. We copied every price and spec below from Flipkart and Amazon.in listings on 3 Nov 2026, during the Big Bang Diwali and Great Indian Festival sales. We skipped infrared and radiant "all-cookware" plates that show up in the same search results — those are a different product.
Quick picks

How to choose an induction cooktop under ₹3,000
- Confirm it is induction, not infrared. Search pages mix both. Infrared works with more cookware; induction needs magnetic pots and usually cooks faster and cooler to the touch around the pan.
- Wattage vs wiring. 2000 W+ models heat faster but need a decent socket. If breakers trip often, stay near 1200–1600 W.
- Presets help Indian meals. Look for dosa/roti, curry, idli, milk and pressure-cook style menus if you want one-touch defaults; you can still cook on manual.
- Surge and AVR matter in India. Prestige (4 kV on PIC 20 / PIC 16), Philips (triple MOV / 4 kW) and V-Guard (3 kV) list protection clearly. Prefer those if your area has spikes.
- Coil warranty ≠ full-product warranty. Philips and V-Guard listings separate a longer coil cover from a 1-year product cover — read the card in the box.
- Ignore the MRP. Many listings show 40–60% off a high MRP. The selling price is what counts.
- Service before brand-new names. Prestige, Philips, Crompton, Pigeon and V-Guard usually have easier claim paths than lesser-known marketplace brands.
Gifting this Dhanteras and Diwali

What we left out
The Prestige PIC 20 Neo was ₹2,119 on Amazon.in on 3 Nov 2026 — close to the PIC 20.0, so we kept one Prestige 1600 W model. The Prestige Atlas Touch 2000 W was ₹2,999 on Flipkart; we kept the PIC 16.0 Plus instead as the Prestige 2000 W option. Pigeon Cruise 1800 W showed ₹1,599 on Amazon.in but was unavailable. Bajaj listings we opened either showed out-of-stock or inconsistent wattage fields, so they are not in the table. Infrared and radiant cooktops under ₹3,000 were common in search results and are excluded on purpose. We only list regular selling prices from 3 Nov 2026, not bank-card or coupon prices. We have not tested these cooktops and we don’t show star ratings; read recent reviews on the store page before you buy.
FAQ
Which is the best induction cooktop under ₹3,000 in India?
For a balanced everyday pick, the Prestige PIC 20.0 (1600 W, 8 presets, 4 kV surge) was ₹2,199 on Amazon.in on 3 Nov 2026. For unstable voltage and a longer coil warranty, the Philips HD4934/00 (1300 W) was ₹2,340 on Amazon.in. For raw heating speed on a budget, the iBELL 20YO (2000 W) was ₹1,914 on Flipkart. For weaker wiring, the V-Guard VIC 1.2 (1200 W, 3 kV surge, 3-year coil) was ₹2,099.
Induction vs infrared — which one is this guide about?
This guide is only for induction cooktops. Induction heats magnetic steel/iron cookware and usually needs flat induction-compatible bases. Infrared / radiant plates heat any cookware (including aluminium and clay) but behave more like a hot plate. Many Flipkart and Amazon search results under ₹3,000 are infrared — check the product type before you buy.
What wattage do I need?
Around 1200 W (V-Guard VIC 1.2, Philips HD4934/00) suits light daily cooking and older wiring. 1600 W (Prestige PIC 20.0, Crompton Instaserve) is the common sweet spot. 2000–2100 W (iBELL 20YO, Prestige PIC 16.0 Plus, Pigeon Brio+) boils and fries faster but draws more current — avoid sharing a weak extension board with other heavy loads.
Do I need special cookware?
Yes for induction. Use flat-bottom pots that a magnet sticks to (most stainless induction-base cookers and cast iron). If your favourite kadhai is pure aluminium or copper with no induction plate, it will not heat on these models.
Is it worth buying an induction cooktop in the Diwali sale?
Prices are softer during Big Bang Diwali and the Great Indian Festival, but MRPs on kitchen appliances are often set very high, so a big "% off" means little. Compare the selling price with this list. If it is a Dhanteras (Fri 6 Nov) or Diwali (Sun 8 Nov) kitchen gift, check the delivery date at checkout — festive-week deliveries slip.
